Kayaking down the Nisqually River to Luhr Beach - 5/14/10

Two of our best friends, Matt and Marlene, joined us for a kayaking trip down the Nisqually River to Luhr Beach.  This was the first time either of them had been kayaking.
Matt, Marlene, and Brenda on the river.  As you can see, the river is pretty tame.
Matt, Marlene, and me (Jerry) passing under I-5.  It is incredibly noisy!
One of the levies in the background.  These were recently destroyed to return the Nisqually delta to its original state.
Further down the river, almost to the Sound.
This was a great day for wildlife.  I was able to get pretty close to these harbor seals.
And to this bald eagle... but it flew off just a moment later.
And I got this picture.  Awesome!  Overall, this was one of the best kayaking trips ever!
