Kayaking on Puget Sound - 6/17/11

We were horrible about kayaking last summer!  This is only the second time we got out in our kayaks since the 5/14/10 kayaking trip.  We forgot to take our camera earlier this year.  This was the first time all three of us (Brenda, Sara, and me) had kayaked together.  Brenda and Sara kayaked without skirts so we could take Roxy along with us.  We put in a Luhr Beach and paddled almost due south towards McAllister Creek.
Brenda and me just starting out.  The tide was coming in when we started, so the paddle upstream was easy... a little too easy.
Great picture of Brenda with Mt Rainier and the new boardwalk in the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge in the background.
Brenda, Sara, and Roxy.  The longer we were out, the more comfortable Roxy got in the kayak.
Mt Rainier really is beautiful from the Sound.  Photos just don't do it justice.
This is where Roxy spent most of her kayaking time.  Isn't she cute?
Sara with Mt Rainier in the background.  This was on our way back.  The tide was still coming in.  Paddling against the tide (and the wind) was kind of tough.
Jerry paddling his heart out with Mt Rainier in the background.

  1. Roxy looks like she had a good time. You should take Winston out there! He'd probably take up the whole kayak :) -Susan
